Magic Links
An older magician (Jack Delvin) once said to Mark "The door to magic is closed, but it isn't locked. You just have to be willing to push at it." And he was right. If people say "how do you do that" to a magician, they will usually get brushed off with an answer such as "Very well!" But if a person approaches a magician and demonstrates that they've got the drive, the aptitude and the desire to study the craft and do it justice, then they will be treated very differently.
If you want to learn some magic, the first steps will need to be your own, but you may find the following links useful.
Magic Week is a site featuring weekly magic news in the UK. News, reviews, a directory of UK magicians, magic shops, tricks and dealers, clubs and societies. Designed, produced and meticulously maintained by Duncan Trillo.
This site has an interesting on-line Magic Library which features information about magic and magicians in general. (For instance, there is a good guide to books about magic, to give you a bit of help in getting started.) They also stock a diverse range of professional magic tricks, books, videos/dvds and memorabilia. The items they sell are rated by skill level so you can get an idea of what might be good to start with.
